How does it work?

We follow a thorough but straightforward process before starting work, to ensure the best results for the project and landowner.

1. Feasibility

A high-level feasibility study to assess whether the land is suitable.

2. Heads of Terms and securing grid capacity

If a project is feasible, we will proceed with a Heads of Terms Agreement and submit a formal grid application.

3. Option to Lease and planning

We will then begin planning, including conducting surveys, creating site designs, engaging with the community, and preparing and submitting the planning application. We will also work with the landowner to prepare the full Option to Lease and Lease Agreements, covering solicitor fees.

4. Construction and operation

Once we have planning permission, we will start construction and trigger the Lease Agreement via the Option to Lease. Lease payments will begin and continue for the next 25 years.

  • We offer a prompt, free, and no-obligation analysis to determine the suitability of your land for a biomethane facility. Our experts in site planning and assessment employ advanced geographical information systems (GIS), and work with you to identify the best location for a potential development.

  • There are no costs to you as the landowner. We fund everything associated with the development, as well as your reasonable third-party costs.

  • Yes. You retain ownership, and a long-term index-linked lease will often dramatically increase the land’s value.

  • Biomethane facilities typically require a minimum of 5 hectares (12.5 acres) from one landowner.

  • Our thorough identification and selection process looks at land topography, land designations, ground conditions, highways suitability and many more characteristics.

  • We will remove all the equipment on the site and restore it to its original state.
